Well done last night. watched the final for a fair bit until 4 left.

So far I have a seat only and keep messing up the weekly finals. Would hate to think how many I have played compared to cost of buying in. Damage done last night when guy called my UTG raise with 53 and rivered a flush. I have another ticket so probably give it another go next week.

I fly out from Edinburgh on 11th and back home on 15th. No direct flights so via Charles de Gaulle. Turbo is flying from Gatwick on 11th.

Hopefully a few more get packages. I will buy a full package if anyone is selling.

I was considering it until I got to the point I have entered enough weekly finals that I may as well just have bought a package. Bubbled two of them including a 9th when 8 paid. Now I just can't be arsed. Plus the fact I really don't fancy Morocco at any time of the year, let alone January. I'll just hang on until the next round and buy in to Talinn or Malta

In theory if I had 6 weely tickets could I jut trade it for a package?

I feel the same way about the weekly finals. Need the run good or certainly to avoid run bad.

Shame there don't seem to be any packages for sale now. Probably after the free roll stopped.

I have swapped weekly tickets for a package before but not sure if you are supposed to. Rich has been good about it though. Certainly wish I had stored the weekly tickets as I do okay at the daily sats for the 200 ticket.

Morocco is pretty decent and it is a cracking hotel. Weather will not be quite as good this time but average is 18 so will be pleasant.

Hi all, look forward to meeting you all that are going.

I have booked Gatwick now for the 11th as that is the closest airport for me and am taking the train. Arriving in Casblanca 18:35pm. I have emailed to see if I can take the 7pm free shuttle bus. Paul Scott what time do you arrive in Casablanca?
Is Juleski Julie Whitworth?

I'm not a doctor - I have never had a vaccination to travel - not essential.

I'm not a travel agent. Dunno what that card is mate.

Yes! one I can answer
If you go all in and lose at around 9pm on Thursday you'll make the party, if you win the hand you won't but will be chipped up.
Unless you get all fruity and go all in again before say 10pm, you'll make the last hour or so of the party.

Party will probably be in the nightclub onsite- free drinks and snacks while you hang around with poker players until about 11pm when the local brasses turn up.

Brilliant :-)

So if I just travel with euros (as I have them on card and turn them into cash) will that be ok or will I need to exchange to MAD before I go ?

Don't think you can exchange into MAD outside of Morocco. Or if you can very little.

The local currency is only available in Morocco. Be careful not to take any out the country as you will struggle to change it back.

Euros are as much use as sterling there so no point changing money twice. I just used my credit card to take money out on arrival. You will not need a huge amount of cash. If you pay for a meal in the hotel you can put it on your room and pay with a credit card at the end. The casino will also change money for you if required and draw money out on cards for you if over the limit for the cash machine.

There is no need for vaccinations as far as I am aware. It is unlikely that you will go far from the hotel and it is all enclosed.

The welcome party was a good meeting point for the crowd. We were given tickets for a few free beers and then spoke nicely to Rich who bought us some more.

The locals are nuts on the poker table. Some were having 10 plus buyins and going all in blind every hand. There were a few upset who had won a satellite and had 1 ticket to play. They were walking their monsters into blind hands and losing. It is good to try and win a few tickets and then if you make day 2 you can cash them in.

ps I think Alan is flying from Gatwick and not Heathrow as he sent me his confirmation. Funny if Jules and him went to the wrong airport though.

Heathrow confirmed Paul :thumb:, it was closer for Jules.
I made €6000 playing cash and €2500 for coming 16th there last time so a successful trip in all, the Moroccans & Tunisians are nuts. They don’t play online at all because they think its a big conspiracy making them incredibly loose players, obviously they slip through the net from time to time, the upside is if you have a relatively good hand you should get good value.
There’s also a golf course as part of the hotel for those that play, bring ya shoes and a top, if you’re unfortunate not to get through to day 2 or 3 we’ll smash a few balls.
Don’t expect to explore outside the hotel, there is nothing !

Thanks all for all the help and awesome info :)

Eurochange sell MAD but best check if they buy back! I will pop in there tomo to ask! https://www.eurochange.co.uk

I asked at Boots Pharmacy and they said no injections needed.

So if I/we win or cash best to change MAD into GBP before going home! Or is there a option for it to be paid into your poker account?

Nice Heads up about the locals!

Is the airport quite small? My flight arrives at 6:35pm and I have booked the 7pm free shuttle so hope to be at the party!
Check in says 3 hours minimum,is that really strict? As my return shuttle is departing at 7:30am and check in is 8:10am!

Eurochange and any place in UK only allowed to sell small amounts, they explained to me its a closed currency, so only suppose to buy and sell a large amounts in Morocco. I asked MPN and they said bank transfer any winnings is fine.(Pretty sure you need IBAN etc) Read if you are caught with taking a load of cash you could get into serious trouble!

I had a arguement with the casino manager last time, they wanted to pay me in dirham’s :help: , 64000 worth (€5600) from the cash poker, I said that’s no good to me as I’m going back to the UK, they offered to do a bank transfer using the IBAN but they made it incredibly confusing and difficult, also I didn’t have any confidence in them because of the clearance time, so they hustled around for 2hrs and managed to pay three quarters in euros, so I spunked the rest back on cash.

Bit of a worry..Hopefully MTTs will be different as the reply was from MPN info.

What stakes did you play to have such awesome profit in a short space of time on cash!
