Glen Durrant

Post: # 29091Post Rivher

Would like to see him move over to the PDC, as I think he is actually a top 10 PDC player on that level.

Who agrees?

He clearly is heads and tails better than the BDO mob, and I think he would fair ok against the PDC big boys.

As in top 10 and Premier League he would be mid table and give everyone a decent game?

Last 'superstar' from the BDO Stephen Bunting got a rude awakening which I think affected his confidence, but I think Durrant is made of stronger stuff and is actually good enough to do reasonably well?

Why would he?

A nailed on world title and a cheque for 100k or struggle in the PDC.
Maybe top ten but he won’t win a title. Guess it depends what your priorities are, Wolfie Adams stayed there, made a good living and now has a career as a pundit. Wouldn’t have got that with PDC.

He has a decent overall average of about 97, but only over a few games, not his fault BDO hardly have any competitions. He is at PDC Q School this week, no reason to think he won't win his tour card though. He will have to maintain that average if he is to do any good. Bunting is averaging 93 and currently 17th on the Order of Merit

Wolfie has earned around £30K a year when playing, Durrant around £74k a year but that includes where the PDC let BDO players join in.

PDC Michael Smith has made around £200k a year and even Robert Thornton has made about £130k a year

With the BDO prize money being crap ther PDC prize money this year is £14M if you managed to qualify for each tournament and get knocked out in the first round of each game you would still be £95k better off

Well we will find out tonight!

Almost spat in my non existent cornflakes when I went to look at tonights prices and saw his name playing!

How does this 'guest' replacement for Gary Anderson work? Does he get the points then they sall play a leg each in the final? I wondered how Chris Dobey made the Premier League this year when I watched last weeks, now I know he was a guest! :help:

Further digging and I find Glen Durant is now a PDC player with a 2 year tour card after qualifying at Q School!

Lets see if I am right or if he will do a Bunting!

No the guest doesn’t get any points but I think the league guy does, or not if he gets beaten.

He didn't play very well perhaps the occasion got to him, but also I think Gurney was the player of the night, and played very well.

I definitely still think he would do alright over an entire season once the nerves had settled down.

Won't win a title!! Just won PDC Championship 4 today. Won more prize money in the first 4 events as a new tour card holder than anyone else ever has.

Ah, just seen it's World Matchplay. Isn't he from up that neck of the woods?

Two champ-champ-champs against each other.

So win 1 over MVG makes your case? Sounds a bit like that poker HU :hide:

To be fair he played great but he only won because MVG is way off his game, he started to bottle it but MVG is way below his standard and just not there at the moment.

I like Durrant and maybe could be top 10 but ATM i'd put him between 11-20

I hate Wade but somehow he always finds a way to win. Should be a close match, bet overs on the legs :hide:

Tip... do the opposite of whatever i say :help:

This year alone, his first year, well 7 months he has won 81,000 putting him 10th in winnings for this year, as the rankings are based over 2 years, watch him rise, as for what they declare is different, i think not

Nitpicking now Marky like i said what you know they win and what they make is different just as Fury and Wilder could have fought in Saudi for 10 million each behind closed doors if they never mentioned it would people of known ?

Well, your post did look to be insinuating that they were involved in some tax avoidance scheme.

If they're making money gambling, that's completely different to earning 500k and declaring 100k.

If they make 400k out of money matches, they're not obligated to declare that at all.

Bumped into him yesterday when I was searching all the neighbouring streets for my car.

He was having a sly ciggie in the 'tradesmen' exit of the Winter Palace.

The tradesman wasn't too happy, said he always hits his bullseye! :help:

I go to him alright son, good luck tonight. He was very polite and said thank you very much.

Er that was it.

Well played, my motivational speech worked wonders. :hide:
