If i play any wsop event,it will be the $1,500 super turbo bounty on the 24th june.(1 day event)
Nuggets the nuts colin, fuck uber,we get a two week bus pass every year we are there, can get dropped off at any hotel we want in 15/20 mins also goes to outlets or anyhere else you want to go in vegas cost us $35 each for the fortnight.
Theres plenty of poker at the nugget and binnions ,only normally go up the strip once or twice in the two weeks we are there (dont really like it up there)
Plenty of casinos/pubs/restaurents/entertainment downtown, and you not having to fuck about in the heat and crowds waiting at traffic lights all the time to cross 6 lane roads. :D

Good luck Dougie if you play the super turbo, not my cup of tea tho, I’ll rail you xx

I am looking forward to staying downtown, every time we’ve visited it we’ve loved it. It’s been hard work convincing the Duchess but she only agrees to things she wants to do. She’s a bit apprehensive walking around on her own tho. When she’s there any reassurance will be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to Vegas again!

There’s no problem walking around on your own
Denise flits about quit a bit n she’s fine

First time there, so have a lot of time accumulated :) Actually, they did not allow me to book longer because of immigration / citizen rules in LV (or Nevada). I have to check out and in again if I like to stay longer. I have only booked flights one way yet. If the trip is a big success I might stay over main event as well.

Yeah, you can't stay longer than 28 days, I think it is. Brave man spending a month at the Rio

Yeah, that way you can get backend comps if you punt it up, and much easier to make changes.

I just wouldn't want to spend a month staying at that hotel, lol.

Whenever I go, I always split my stay between two hotels.

Well, I never been there. I thought I just should be close to the events. I also was told to take a room not so many stairs up so I can run up to the room in breaks and do not need to wait for the elevator.

Why do you split it up?

You're only an uber from the Rio if you stay on the strip, and you can get dropped much closer to the poker than you'll be staying there.

It's a long walk down to the poker every day, and I'm not sure you need to worry about waiting for elevators, as there are tonnes of them. You'll need to run if you want to go to the room in any break but the dinner one

Change of scenery/surroundings. Month in a hotel is a long time, and the last 2 years I've done 2 weeks downtown and then two weeks on the strip.

The Rios hit n miss some of the rooms are less than desirable
You won’t be running up to the room believe me
Pool area poor
Drinks are pricey
Miles of corridors to walk down to the exhibition centre at the back where the poker is
It’s a real circus
I’ve stayed there twice
Plus it’s not cheap
Your money will go much further downtown
Plus we will be downtown for rubs n bants

A lot of poker players stay at the gold coast (couple of minutes walk from the rio ,through the carpark) ive stayed there before ,its an ok hotel (no poker room though) it has a pool thats never to busy a bowling alley and a theatre upstairs a few bars ,one with live entertainment every night,a few restaurents, and a free shuttle bus that takes you to and back from the strip,
It was refurbished a couple of years ago, plus its cheap.

Oh right I thought Trump was now getting lively with us 'Europeans' now he has cracked the Mexican problem? :hide:

Bit strange you can only stay in a hotel for 28 days though! I can't actually think of any point to that if you can stay in the country 3 months and move hotel anyway? Or is that it you get 28 days in a hotel and the other 2 months in the tunnel? :help:

It is not a US regulation, it is Vegas or Nevada citizen rules.
I got this answer: "Please be aware that due to residency restrictions, you will have to checkout of your room and in to a different room after 29 nights."

'POKER19' is the Nugget code for the summer, if you're playing their tourneys.

Carson Tower rooms only.

Only really the Wynn schedule left to come out, and I'll sort my hotels depending on what I'm going to play.

Tempted by all the low buyin WSOP events, as you won't get a better chance at a lump with a good structure.

Downside is it's at the Rio, lol.

How do you most convenient get US$ to play with at the WSOP? I read a document from 2017 that you could wire transfer to Rio Properties and give them your name and Total Reward number and then get chips for it that can be used for buy-in. Is there any better way? Maybe like they have at Pokerstars European Tour events, Poker stars live account?

I just take cash, and a FairFX card.

You can wire, but the one time I did that it was a pain in the ass, as they wanted me to gamble the money, not use it for poker.

Just take cash, it’s easier.
You can take $10,000 cash into America without declaring it.

If you take more then declare it on the blue form you fill in on the plane and when you go thru immigration they direct you to another desk where you are asked a few regulation questions like “why are you bringing in that amount of cash to Las Vegas” :-)
