Just take cash, it’s easier.
You can take $10,000 cash into America without declaring it.

If you take more then declare it on the blue form you fill in on the plane and when you go thru immigration they direct you to another desk where you are asked a few regulation questions like “why are you bringing in that amount of cash to Las Vegas” :-)
Thanks Scuff, but I do not like to get around with that amount of money free for robbers to grab. Also when I am at the place it would feel better to have it "secured" in an account that could be used to pay the tourney fees. The document at least states that you can wire money and then get them when you arrive so I do not have them on me while travelling. Hopefully they will have that for 2019 as well. I got this answer from Tyler Pipal that is the WSOP Operation Manager: Players are able to purchase WSOP Tournament Buy-in Credits and create an account for registering over the course of the summer. This account is the same one used for online tournament registration with our partner Bravo. To create this account, you will also need a Caesar’s Total Rewards card as the two systems are linked. Online registration for the 2019 WSOP will begin late March/early April. Once this is open, we will also begin taking deposits for the general “Buy-in Credits” mentioned above. So something will hopefully be up and running before I leave.

Greenbay a lot of hotels in vegas ,you could put your money in a safe deposit box in the casino cage for a small fee, instead of keeping it in hotel safe, not sure if thats still the case though.
Worth checking it out if you are taking a large wedge with you.

You're only an uber from the Rio if you stay on the strip, and you can get dropped much closer to the poker than you'll be staying there.

It's a long walk down to the poker every day, and I'm not sure you need to worry about waiting for elevators, as there are tonnes of them. You'll need to run if you want to go to the room in any break but the dinner one

Change of scenery/surroundings. Month in a hotel is a long time, and the last 2 years I've done 2 weeks downtown and then two weeks on the strip.
I can confirm it would be very hard to get to your room and back in a 15 minute break.

You could literally get to it and run back but you still might not quite make it!

It is a massive long walk to the body of the main hotel, only chance is do what I did, hire a scooter. That way you can also chop down the poker players cos when it is a break in a big tournament it is packed down the hallway. Wont win you any tournaments, but it's great fun.

You will have to come downtown for a drink with us lot? :help:

Sounds like a great fun to tackle the other players with a scooter! :thumb: Probably also give me some edge at the tables. :D

Yeah I didn't think much of it. It was a few days after Marky run into this Mexican Tatto'd gangster in Freemont. He turned round to chin someone and saw Marky going sorry mate after taking his ankles out. I thought this looks like fun and the mugs in Rio need to get out of the way quicker. Only knew about it when someone on a proper poker forum, saying about a lunatic on a scooter chopping into people in the break!

Beauty of being in a chair is you can get away with anything, that's about it though. Marky makes me do bad things, like pretending I got MS to go from Vegas to LA with about 10kg too much weight as a means to get away with it! Surprisingly it worked, and I love being pushed about by an old guy who can hardly walk himself.

Thanks again Marky, your schedules are much appreciated xx

I arrive on the 19th and will leave on the 29th or 30th depending on how well or badly I've done in my last tourney.

3 WSOP tourneys that I'm planning to play:

21st June (6 days) #50 $1500 monster stack 50k chips 60 min clock
25th June (3 days) #59 $600 30k chips 40min clock day1 60min days 2 & 3. 1 re-entry
27th June (3 days) #61 $400 40k chips 40min clock. 1 re-entry

Hopefully I won't be in all 3 as I've made the final table in the previous tourney! On the other hand if I get knocked out of the first one on day one then I will play the Venetian Epic Stack on Sunday 23rd (2 days) $600 50k chips 30/40min clock.

10 weeks and counting, can't wait!
