It's Vegas, not Vietnam.

Stay on the main Fremont, and you're all good.

Plenty of tramps for you to feed when you're pissed up, as well.
I’m going to sit with them, I’m out of work. Just need an outfit!

I've seen some of your get up, you'll be alright :hide:

No need to hide behind the sofa, I actually think that’s a fair point x

As marky says colin, stick to freemont street and its a lot safer to walk around than the strip is.
You can also sit outside the nugget having a drink watching the world go by,and the acts on the centre stage,or walk around wandering into different casinos (with your drink in hand) or wander down to the other 2 stages and watch the bands, you can even have a wee dance in the street if you fancy it :D or watch the street acts, she will love it,freemont street is like an adult theme park.
Plus it will be a lot more safer there for you colin than blackpool was, richie wont be there to kick fuck out of you :hide: :D

Boys, I'll be there hope to see all of you. Paul, Dougie, Marky, Rivher, Tony, it will be a wild ride this year. Will Colin return for his glory repeat? I'll post my dates as it gets closer. The "Goose" free from his marriage to an anti gambling woman, might even make an appearance.

Might as well plot up at the Rio, and play the 23-25-26-27-28
I just noticed also a $500 bracelet event that isn't restricted to American vets, as I initially thought when I read it's description!
Salute To Warriors –

Another addition to the 2019 WSOP schedule is a charity event to honor military service members, deemed the ‘Salute To Warriors’ tournament. The gold bracelet event has a $500 buy-in and starts Tuesday, July 2. It is a three-day tournament that will conclude on Thursday, July 4, which is Independence Day in the U.S. Proceeds from this event are said to be donated to the USO and other veteran organizations.

The Salute To Warriors event is not restricted. It’s open to all participants.
This is interesting and starts on July 2nd. I also notice a 'mini' main event at $1000 buy in July 1st which is also interesting.

I agree with you Colin (who would have thought! :D )that staying at The Rio is not worth it unless you rent one of the Marky Mobiles. I did and was great for nipping back to room as without it, and someone got a mention on a poker forum about whacking into the back of peoples ankles in the breaks when they got in the way (it is amazing what you can get away with if people think you are unable to walk) it is a mammoth journey when you got 15 minutes only! But yeah doesn't make a lot of difference if you have to get a taxi, probably takes the same amount of time from your room to the cage as to The Nugget to The Rio! :help:

So there is plenty of just small (Don't think there has ever been any lower buy in for a wsop event than $400) bracelet events, and although these are a minefield with thousands of entrants, at least the starting stacks seem to be half decent. I remember the time I literally threw away $1500 in a WSOP event that started with about 3000 chips and I was stiull drunk from the night before. I was out within two hours (flopped the nut set but K 10 in the bb hit the straight on the river but by then I just couldn't fold with so few chips). So at least they all seem to have some playability early doors which is a huge improvement.

Plenty though $400 to $1000 events, I expect to play at least two, be nice to have a first cash ever in the WSOP :bang:

Thinking about it if a Brit won the 'Salute to Warriors' that would be hilarious on July 4th!

If i play any wsop event,it will be the $1,500 super turbo bounty on the 24th june.(1 day event)
Nuggets the nuts colin, fuck uber,we get a two week bus pass every year we are there, can get dropped off at any hotel we want in 15/20 mins also goes to outlets or anyhere else you want to go in vegas cost us $35 each for the fortnight.
Theres plenty of poker at the nugget and binnions ,only normally go up the strip once or twice in the two weeks we are there (dont really like it up there)
Plenty of casinos/pubs/restaurents/entertainment downtown, and you not having to fuck about in the heat and crowds waiting at traffic lights all the time to cross 6 lane roads. :D

Good luck Dougie if you play the super turbo, not my cup of tea tho, I’ll rail you xx

I am looking forward to staying downtown, every time we’ve visited it we’ve loved it. It’s been hard work convincing the Duchess but she only agrees to things she wants to do. She’s a bit apprehensive walking around on her own tho. When she’s there any reassurance will be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to Vegas again!
I have never not felt safe in Freemont Street. Lets face it the whole place is camera'd up, and with plenty of security and police I do not think it is a target for anyone but mental health care patients that have been let out early! Now if you walk up the road you suddenly feel like you are probably not safe at all. I remember when me and Plum walked up it. Soon as you left the main bit though it felt dodgy as fuck. When the security guy told Plum someone got shot outside the week before, I couldn't get him to walk any further. I remember being paranoid about walking out of the pawn shop with a load of stuff I just bought. But again is near to Freemont Street and still plenty of cctv around.

As far as terrorist attacks and lunatics with guns, most of that action centres around the strip, so if anything I reckon it is safer! :help:

It's some form of charity tourney, I think.

I've got rooms booked everywhere, so will decide once all the poker schedules out what I'm going to do.

Bought some $$$ today at 1.27.

If the no deal talk continues it will be lower.

However, if they delay it will get better.

So it now looks like Lauren's graduation in Dundee will be on the 19th June the day before I fly to Vegas so all good.

However, just had an email from Virgin confirming that my flight has been changed from 12.30pm to 9.15am. I am booked on the FlyBe flight that lands in Manchester at 7.45am so that is too tight.

I will probably get the train down the night before.

My question is if I don't take the flight down with FlyBe will they retain my seat on the return flight?

They might be able to sell it, but that isn't your problem you paid for it mate! Just checkin early then they of course wont sell it then.

I done it between here and Tenerife where I missed one flight then used the return, I can confirm it was still there mate!

Will wait till nearer the time in case flights get changed again. That is twice theVirgin flight has been changed and guess the Flybe flight might get changed at some stage too.

Spoke to virgin customer services. Original flight was at 12pm and changed to 9.15am so less than 3 hours so not considered significant. had a look on Virgin site and they are advertising the route from Edinburgh using Flybe as a connected flight. Problem is that I booked separately. If I go with it I have 30 minutes to get my case, change terminal and check in. If I am late I have no comeback and miss the flight and stuck in Manchester.

Will wait and see but may just drive down at 4am. however that means I will have to drive back after the overnight flight.

Aria cardroom is fine, even if it's crowded, and I'm a scooter driving spastic.

Excellent food options right next to the Aria poker room, too.

Encore is the most luxurious, of that there is no doubt.

GN will release their schedule next Friday.

The tag team event starting monday the 24th june,is it $1000 a team or $1000 a player to enter?
If its $1000 a team,it could be a bit of fun if a team of 4 of us entered.

The best Aria games for me are the day before I arrive and the day after I leave. I am tempted by a seniors event this time. Any of the crumblies fancies one?

Tag team sounds great in principle but I imagine would be fairly boring with a team of 4 and only 1 playing. 3 folk sitting on the rail hoping the played doesn't make a cauliflower of it. Played the pairs on MPNPT a few times and it is frustrating sitting out while the other guy messes it up.

Looking at all these schedules so far, I hope the Nugget has something decent, or I might stay at the Aria first week.

Will save me about £200 in cabs!
