A sad day, confirmation that peoples votes count for nothing, unless the politicians agree with what they vote for.
Your job is to work ,Pay Taxes and die just before you get your Pension oh and take part in an Imaginary Democratic society a society where you can say less each day and are forced to accept things that you know are morally wrong and if you dare speak out about it they will fine you or jail you.

So we are now looking at a form of Brexit which really isn't Brexit at all. It is remaining and keeping all the shite but being in a worse position than if we stay in.

Labour and the SNP have a lot to answer for. Corbyn and the SNP together, they deserve each other.

Cameron was an arrogant idiot. No doubt about that. The will of the people however was to leave and Corbyn and the SNP are doing their best to prevent. Labour want a General Election and SNP want independence. Nothing to do with what the people want.

So Labour are supposed to oppose what their voters want? Sunderland was massive for leave but the Labour MPs are obstructing the Brexit process.

Think you will find Corbyn against another vote and that he personally would be happy to leave but find it strange you blame him and the SNP for the situation.

I may be wrong but believe up north you voted by a large %%%% to stay in the EU so the SNP are doing what thier constituents want but agree that in England MPs from all sides are not doing the same.

Couldn't blame Corbyn if he told May to naff off. At best Labour will say take our policy or leave it. Funny old world, the opposition is supposed to hold to Govt to account but now has to save it.

TM tried to get this done with a minority parliament and came up short. If DUP got £150M per MP how much do you think Labour will get?

Still, I will still be predicting GE, revoke or something else by this time tomorrow.

Interesting times for Labour. Is your primary aim hurting the Tories or helping the country? Can't help wondering if they were to be seen to get something over the line, change leader and call a vote of No Confidence whether they might then be in power for a decade or more.

But Longy, their job is to be checks and balance in Parliament and not support the govt. We have an adversarial system in the HoC. They work together in committee. TM has ignored the Brexit committee and has deliberately not keep the HoC informed. How many times has she not answered "what is plan B?"

With our system of govt the last thing this country needs is legislators passing laws with nods and winks but this could be where we are.

Do you think a Corbyn lead Labour party can get a majority. I dont

Dont forget he is very marmite in his own party so would have to work hard to keep the back benches (and even the front benches) in line. He will need a substancial majority.

Doesn't matter who is PM it still wouldnt settle the brexit problem.

Agree 100% that's their normal role.

This isn't normal though. Biggest cultural, economic, societal event in 70+ years, going to dominate the nation for another 20 years at least.

With a good orator leading them they could consign the Tories to the opposition benches for a generation if they play it right.

Europe must take a “proactive approach” to increase the level of immigration to the bloc, according to a new European Commission report proclaiming migrants would become “increasingly important” in the EU strategy for economic growth.

We would have a decreasing population in UK if we had no movement of people. The average birth rate is 1.7 children per woman.

With the aging population raising from 16% to 28% of population in retirement in the next 20-30 years, someone has to pay our pensions and keep us healthy by paying for NHS.

Besides, we are leaving the EU. Their policies on immigration will have nothing to do with us very soon.

12 month extension just what we all wanted so time for Mrs May to put her "deal" up for a vote at least another 10 or 15 times.

Now we all obv look forwards to another few excellent years under the helm of Teresa and that super efficient, reliable, trustworthy and moralistic Tory party but might have to wait a while whilst their MPs divert their wealth offshore and do a bit of insider trading and obv look for a few bungs here and there.

These extensions get easier after the first one or two.

Rees-Mogg made me laugh this morning saying we would use our votes to deliberately make a mess of the EU. That's the same guy who complained we had no influence and had their laws imposed on us.

Bloody hell Bill change the rhetoric mate and say something fresh.

JRM is everything Tories under the age of 80 wouldn’t want running the party, although there aren’t many others that would be acceptable, he’s the old face of Toryism, a bit like JC to Labour. The two main political parties are so divided and in so much disarray even David “Screaming Lord” Sutch would find it hard to lose his deposit!!

If there is to be, heaven forbid, an extension it needs to be a long as similar to what Tusk suggested today with a get out at Parliament’s choice to save the going back every five minutes to ask for more. Hopefully though that won’t be needed (optimistic view eh?).

Also admin will have to get more storage space!!

Watching bbc news just now,and the ukip leader was on,the reporter mentioned something negative about tommy robinson being connected with ukip would stop people voting for them.
Ukip guy says if it wasnt your policy to stop tommy robinson appearing on tv you could ask him these questions yourself, reporter started stutering and said it wasnt the reporters policy, it was the bbc directors policy.
So much for the bbc being an independent news station, nothing more than a goverment puppet, and propoganda channel.
